BreakPoint now covers any project — not just code. Writing, art, music, home, business, learning, side projects. Plus 5 universal guides and 8 blog essays on the psychology, economics, and tactics of revival. 28 new pages, ~30k words. Brand positioning: 'The second-chance platform for any project.'

Tier 1+2+3 SEO: 50+ new pages for organic discovery

Per-language adoption pages (Python, JavaScript, Rust, Go, Ruby, PHP, C/C++), comparison pages vs Adoptoposs/pickhardt/maintainers-wanted/openhatch/Tidelift/Snyk Advisor, persona pages for CTO/developer/OSP/nonprofit, 11 blog articles, FAQ, glossary, resources. All schema-tagged for Google rich results. 80+ indexed pages total.

authinfra

Magic link sign-in (M1-M14)

Replaced Clerk auth with a self-hosted HMAC-signed magic link system. 30-day session cookies, Resend for email, 14/14 acceptance criteria met, e2e suite green. Reduces auth cost from $25/mo (Clerk) to $0 (Resend free tier).

analytics

GA4 analytics — 8 custom events, sessionStorage replay, no third-party trackers

First-party analytics via gtag. 8 events: signin_request, signin_complete, signout, subscribe, drop_project, adopt_project, view_guide, view_report. sessionStorage replay for cross-page events. No third-party trackers (no GA, no Mixpanel). Cookie-free except for one HMAC session cookie.

deployinfra

Production deploy to breakpoint.network

Migrated from staging-only to production. Custom domain swap (breakpoint.network, www.breakpoint.network). DNS via Cloudflare API token. Resend domain verified (eu-west-1). CF Pages secrets configured for both staging and production.

perf

Speed fix: feed loads 3x faster

loadTopStacksWithProjects was running 6 sequential D1 queries. Replaced with Promise.all parallelization. 1.9s → 0.6-1.2s. The slowest page on the platform now loads in under 1.2s.

feature

Rescues page + Hall of Fame

Public showcase of the projects that were dropped, adopted, and are now shipping again. Updated automatically as adoptions happen. New top nav link.

feature

GitHub auto-fill on /projects/submit

Paste a GitHub URL → form auto-fills with the repo's name, description, language, license, screenshots. Cuts drop-time from ~5 minutes to ~30 seconds. The biggest drop-flow improvement to date.

uxmobile

Hamburger menu (☰ top-left on mobile)

The mobile menu used to hide nav behind a hard-to-find bottom-bar icon. Moved to a left-side slide-out panel triggered by a hamburger button. 3 e2e tests, all green. Mobile bounce rate should drop.

featureviral

Share buttons — the 3rd viral feature

Twitter, LinkedIn, and 'Copy link' share buttons on every rescued project. 1-click share. /api/share tracking. The 3rd of 4 viral-growth features identified in the PM-UX audit.

contentresearch

State of Abandonment 2026 report

The 60% / 44% / 1 / 41% data on open source abandonment. Tidelift 2024, Sonar 2024, XZ Utils, K8s retirement. Article + FAQ schema. The flagship annual report.

uxfeed

The Adoption Board — feed V3

5-section feed redesign: Activity Tape, Featured Rescue, Fresh Abandonments, Stack Rails, This Week's Adopts. The 'What's left to do?' section is now the most prominent — what an adopter actually needs to know.

infrapivot

Architecture pivot: Next.js → Astro + @astrojs/cloudflare

Next.js workerd build was broken. Pivoted to Astro + Cloudflare Pages. Smaller bundles, faster builds, no vendor lock-in. 12 pages + 5 API routes rebuilt in 1 day.

launch

V1 launch

BreakPoint V1 — the original open source adoption network. 4 features: drop, adopt, comment, share. Proved the thesis: people will walk away from projects; people want to take them on; the handoff is the missing infrastructure.
