Envisionjs

Envisionjs was the chart library before D3 won. Built by Humble Software around 2012, it was a Canvas-based library focused on real-time financial charts: ohlc, candlesticks, time-series with brushing, zoom, and a fluent API. If you read any fintech blog post about "high-performance charts" between 2012 and 2015, it probably linked to Envision. The repo went quiet around 2020. D3 has subsumed the use cases, but the API was much nicer than D3 for the chart-specific use case. There are at least 3 abandoned forks. The original site (humblesoftware.com) is offline. Worth a rescue for anyone doing serious time-series visualization in 2026 — the perf optimizations are still good.
